Kristi
Mathieson, MS, CPT is an exercise physiologist, nutritionist, and
certified personal trainer. Kristi has a varied and valuable
background. After receiving her Bachelor's degree in
exercise physiology and Master's degree in nutrition, both from
The University of New Hampshire, Kristi has worked in the health
care industry for over 20 years. She began as a Senior Research
Associate with Tufts Human Nutrition Research in osteoporosis research.
She then moved to a clinical setting as the Director of Food
Service at the Seacoast Health Center nursing home.
The
experience in the nursing home played a large role in her decision
to open The Physical Advantage, a Portsmouth-based private
practice specializing in counseling individuals on healthy eating
and exercise habits. Kristi was prompted to help a younger
population become more educated on healthy lifestyle choices by
the magnitude of health issues each patient had lived with in the
nursing home. The Physical Advantage offered
exercise and nutrition services through individual counseling as
well as group classes in weight management, strength and sports
training, post-physical therapy rehabilitation and maintenance,
as well as diabetes management. In addition, Kristi's
business offered school outreach programs and public speaking lecture
series' to local businesses, WMUR TV and WBZ radio.
After
selling The Physical Advantage, Kristi worked as the Client
Services Manager with two different medical communications companies.
In these positions, she was the primary client liaison and
manager. She was responsible for developing strategic
partnerships with a large client base and leading a team of people
to deliver information and services to the healthcare community.
Some examples include: content development for high-level
medical meetings including live and web-based Continuing Medical
Education (CME) programs, and clinical advisory board and research
marketing initiatives nationwide.
Kristi's
strong business and management expertise, customer service experience,
and capacity for caring form a formidable combination that offer
customers of Natural Health Solutions high quality service and care. She
continues to expand her knowledge base by completing her registered
dietician (RD) board requirements. She is excited to be working
with her brother to serve the greater Seacoast community, her home
where she has lived for most of her life. Kristi
is an avid runner, is married and has a lovely four-year old daughter.
